Cataract

A cataract is where the eye’s lens becomes cloudy, causing impaired vision.

Both eyes can be affected and vision is often worst affected in bright sunlight. Cataracts are usually due to the aging process, but could also happen at any age. If the cataract develops so much that your vision is seriously affected, you will normally be advised to seek referral to an eye specialist, who will arrange to remove the natural lens in the eye, and replace it with a clear artificial lens.

At EyeContact Opticians the opticians have the ability to check for cataract development and refer you appropriate eye specialist.
